Disco night gave us fever!

Uncategorized No Comments

SusieQHey Aussie Idolers

WOW WOW WOW………the best night we have had yet.

Apart from a very disappointing boring performance from Marty Simpson and Lana. who the judges and comperes tried to entice to leave and do her HSC instead of carrying on….what a night!

Even Carl Risely pulled out a great performance and right song choice for his crooning voice.

But ofcourse MATT MATT MATT the favourite certainly deserved the touchdown…….wow what a star……..my comment would simply be to lose the intensity in his face, relax and enjoy himself a bit more.

Natalie was great but tried a little too hard for my liking losing some of the smoothness of the performance.

Tarisai was a little disappointing for she did not really get into the groove of disco night and was way too heavy instead of  light, fun and “discoish”,…she needs to let go a little bit instead of being the big singer all the time. We know she is talented so she doesn’t need to try so hard all the time.

Mark da Costa certainly is the one coming up from behind as I really love his confidence and maturity as a performer and what a great unique voice he has! Well done Mark….quite a hunk too!

Ben did well but I feel he still needs to loosen up a little bit more but he is showing the unique giftings he has more and more so for one of the youngies.

Jacob was great but must learn to move with ease and let loose…Great voice though.

Daniel disappointed me a little bit but missed notes all over the place…wrong song Daniel….stick with simplicity and show us your overall talent.

Well cant wait for Monday night but my tips for the bottom3 would be Lana, Marty and possibly Daniel if it goes on performance only…Jack if it goes on popularity only.

I believe Marty should go tonight or Lana.

Let me know what you think

Bye Brianna

SusieQHey Aussie Idolers!

Well it was no surprise that Brianna left tonight. Poor girl could not deal with anything out of her genre.

However, to have Jack there in the bottom 3 was ridiculous…he was one of the stronger performers of the night. And Marty is a little too layback in all of his performances but there were much weaker performances on Sunday night. eg. Trumpet man Carl Riseley and Lana just did not cut the grade I’m afraid.

Guess we got to get dialling for a few of the best and not just our favourites or we could find the better ones leaving too early.

Looking forward to next week.

Lets hear your comments and thoughts at this stagel

Take care ya’ll

Sunday night does not rock!

Uncategorized No Comments

SusieQHey Aussie Idolers!

I’d like to say tonight rocked being Rock Night…….but oh woe NO!

It proved to be pretty disappointing to see so many struggle with wrong song choices again not adapting their voices to an appropriate song.

Mark da Costa obvoiusly stood out picking the right song …an AC/DC song and ripping it up.

Matt my personal favourite did an ok job with a badly chosen song.

Tarisai always does well but wasnt really rocky enough but rather cocky at the judges attempts to help her. I think that will cost her votes.

Ben is certainly unique but I’d like to see him gain some confidence and get past the youth insecurities, and begin to trust he has got what it takes!

Lana is way too sweet and stayed in head voice for Rock…Yikes!

Daniel did a pretty good job I felt considering his past few weeks disasters.

Natalie also did fine but not outstanding.

Carl I felt is improving but yes did cheat as a rocker…..

I tend to agree with Kyle on this one that the competition should not force the contestants out of their genre….afterall in the REAL WORLD we buy albums based on a certian style and taste and dont expect one artist to go outside of that.

Marty was average as always which is disappointing considering he stood out more when he was not in the top 12.

Jack was great at rock but to me just lacks charisma and seems to look more like a car salesman…sorry but just my opinion.

And last but certianly least…..poor Brianna truly showed she is not up to anything past her nice quirky home written songs behind the guitar strings….sad but Brianna you couldnt even sing in tune the last couple of weeks….and its time to say GOODBYE I BELIEVE. nice girl though.

Well that wraps up tonight. Hope I am not being too harsh.

Let me know your comments and opinions please.

Take Care yall

And now there is 11

SusieQHello Aussie Idolers!

Well I picked Lana and Brianna to be in bottom 3 but certainly had not thought Holly would be the one to be eliminated. Phew….she was pretty good but unfortunately one bad move on wrong song choice cost her FOR SURE!

Oh well, be interesting how they perform next Sunday night…they really need to get their acts together for it was a pretty weak start overall.

The judges are right this time…….song choices make a huge difference. Like I said last night….someone has to teach these newbies to the industry how to pick something that is pleasing to the public but moreso suits the artists voice and style. They have to showcases their talent rather than hide it behind loud bands and very little content in the song.

I pray it be better next week. What are your thoughts?

See ya then

Song choice nightmares

Uncategorized No Comments

SusieQHey Aussie Idolers!

Interesting night! We saw young Ben McKenzie open the show with what I thought was a mediocre song for his first performance as the top 12.

Then Mark da Costa came out with a song that really did nothing for him especially after last weeks strong performance with the song Eva.

Young Lana gave another ordinary sweet performance showing she really still is a little girl.

Matt Corby, I presume one of the favourites so far, gave in my opinion a perfect stable performance showing off his talent and awesome charisma…are we sure he is really only 16 when he sings with such maturity? WOW!

Tarisai also gave a stunning performance but I believe could have done better with a better song.

To my surprise, Jacob gave a very good performance and rose to the occasion…… as did Carl Risely who up until now I felt was a bit behind the eight ball.

Now Holly truly surprised me in the way she scrubbed up and presented tonight but oh what a bad song choice!

Natalie also gave a good performance and presentation but oh my …someone help these kids with their song choices PLEASE!

Martys performance was forgetable once again with a wrong song choice and Brianna who was one of my favourites has shown me tonight she can not handle anything outside of quirky songs behind a guitar……she was not good tonight and I would think will be in the bottom 3.

Daniel did better with Cry me a river but still a disappointing song choice.

I feel in the future that there should be some coaching as to what would suit the contesting performers and what would not……tonight the choices let alot of the top 12 down.

What are your thoughts on the matter? Agree or disagree?

Questionable Choices

Uncategorized 1 Comment

SusieQHello Aussie Idolers!

Did you agree with the choices this week?

Carl Risely over the effervescent Jack ? Im so disappointed that Marcia won out on that choice, when its clear that Carl is out of his league in this competition.

Im very happy with Natalie and Daniel getting through and Mark da Costa is good value as a rocker.

My highlight for the night was Bobby Flynn’s guest appearance…what an awesome performance from an ex idoler…he is such good value and what a unique voice and performer Bobby is!

But thats what Idol is all about…bring it on channel 10 and help produce the incredible talent we have in this country….considering some of the terrible auditions we have had this year…wow did we find some gold nuggets hiding underneath.

Well, be interesting to see how we go from here……

Who will be the first eliminated out of the 12?

I’d have to assume Carl will not last long.

Till next week

Who will make it to top 12?

Uncategorized 1 Comment

SusieQHey Aussie Idolers!

Tonight we did not see the usual charadery of the judges but more what I saw as sincere constructive comments which is what should be the norm.

I wonder who will get through out of the 8 contenders?

To me its fairly obvious that Jack, Daniel, Natalie and Mark should be the chosen ones.

But ofcourse that is partly up to you viewers to get dialling to make sure of that.

I felt Husney lost his game by choosing a more conservative song tonight, losing his crazy funny image.

Carl, though having a great voice exuded no confidence or belief in the song at all…..not sure if judges advice about sticking with swing exactly helped him :(

Sarah was pretty good and would have been my 5th choice but judges seemed to criticise her more so than the rest…interesting!

Dave had a complete wrong song choice and feel is not up to scratch along side with the judges………however what a nice guy!

We will see tomorrow night….on a last note I must say that I felt Daniel was disappointing tonight and cant believe the judges were happy with that……..I thought he was so much better before……

What I’m seeing here is too much influencing from the judges bringing confusion to who they truly are and should be…just my humble opinion ofcourse lol…….

See you all tomorrow night…..can’t wait!

Heating up!

Uncategorized 1 Comment

SusieQHello Aussie Idolers!

The competition is certainly heating up with a few surprises to get through to the final 12 stage.

It seems that there is a lot of shock or surprise (however you look at it) at some who have possibilities of being in final 12.

In this particular case, I have to agree with the 3 judges and not go with Mark Holden on his crazy choice of Husney over some of the other hopeful contenders.

Cannot understand at all how Lana got through to the definite final 12 for as much as she was cute and sweet there was a lot of talent that went by the wayside when she took their place.

Marcia has obviously has a soft spot for Carl Risely, the trumpeter who I don’t believe had the potential of some others who missed the opportunity.

Im so glad that Jack Byrnes got another chance as are many of us with Daniel Misfud.

Natalie Gauci and Mark de Costa are worth re looking at……..but not sure about Dave Andrews or Sarah Llyode…they do not stand out in my eyes and I saw too many others that were far more memorable.

Prolly still shocked at Jordan Paris not getting through to final 24.

As for the other 5:

Tarisai Vushe - definitely deserved her place.

Matt Corby - the full package.

Marty Simpson - Rugged and rules!

Ben McKenzie - sweet unique sweet 16.

Jacob Butler will rock our world.

Well all I can say now is …”Bring it on Guys and Gals” and blow us away.

What are you thoughts out there?

~Sweet 16’s have it~

Uncategorized No Comments

SusieQHello Aussie Idolers!

Well….its happened again …another sweet 16 yr old through to the final 12 …..young Benji Mckenzie from the Central Coast….and joining him through was another “Central Coaster” called Marty.

Interestingly enough,  tonight we are facing another possible 16yr old girl going through ….young Madison who I felt was the best out of this particular group….but I also suspect that cute quirky and perky Brianna may be another contender to give the others a run for their money.

I’ve have had my eye on Brianna since the Brisbane auditions as something very unique and special although I’m not sure about the song choice tonight as it did not show off the lovely clarity of her voice.

To sum up on the others, I felt Sarah whilst talented offered nothing new to the competition, Morgan was too gothic for my taste, Holly has a good strong voice for sure but not sure about her appeal, and Rosie was cut down pretty hard by the judges a little unfairly I believe.

I’m not sure how you as the public viewed Rosie but think that fact she has done it all before in the UK gets a little old. Speaking of old, I hardly think she looks old at 24 as the  judges commented…perhaps they need to look in their own mirrors :(

I felt Rosie just carried a maturity about her and a polish that lifes experiences and doing other idol shows have given her.

Go for it girls and good luck for tomorrow night

Young Blood!

SusieQHey Aussie Idolers!

Just keep churning out those 16yr olds…….phew!

What with Matt Corby getting through to the final 12 and now we see another sensational talent in Benji who I have had my eye on since the first auditions…… could it be that there is a whole new generation of new stars out there?

It’s exciting to see the babies get some opportunities…..yes 16 is still at the baby stage of life, especially in this industry.

And then we see that young 17 yr old Lana got through in the girls……but wow…was she truly better than Natalie or Cheray?

Tarisai goes without saying…Well done Tarisai………a true star is born!

Never the less, its up to you out there the Australian public to get voting so we are not all in shock week after week………..no use complaining about the choices if we have not done our part, right?

Lol, well tomorrow night should be very interesting with the guys again.

So hard to pick, I really loved Benji and Jack for something a little different……..but Mark and Dave and Marty are all good value. I’m missing one….ummm is he forgetable or is my brain getting tired trying to remember them all?

Well….I will get my act together for Wednesday night eliminations and have more to say then.

My vote for tonight? Benji and Jack!

Let me know your thoughts thus far.
